Felipe R. Diego, President of Berkley International Philippines, Inc., proudly announces the recent promotions of some of its homegrown talents at Family First, Inc. (FFI). These promotions include Liberty L. Lacdao as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Vice-President for People Development, Maria Tzarina G. Saldaña as Assitant Vice-President for Marketing, Stephen Mari L. Go as National Sales and Collections Manager, Marlon Vicente as Sales Manager for FFI Festival Mall and Guia Frialde as Sales Manager for FFI Southmall.

Diego says he is especially proud of these appointments as all five practically developed and honed their management capabilities from their various postings at Family First. Their promotion, Diego emphasized, is but a due reward and recognition for the new appointees' consistently excellent performance through the years.

Ms. Lacdao is one of the pioneers of Family First, starting out as a sales consultant in 1997. She rose from the ranks to progressively become Customer Service Officer, Sales Manager, Group Sales Manager and Group Sales & Collections Manager. She is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas.

Ms. Saldaña, on the other hand, previously held the positions of Promotions Manager and Call Center Manager. An architecture graduate of the University of the Philippines, she has found her niche in marketing and was cited as Manager of the Year in 1999.

Mr. Go, the new National Sales and Collections Manager, is also a true-blue FFI talent, starting as Sales Consultant in 1997, rising to Assistant Sales Manager and, consequently, to Sales Manager for all branches in SM Megamall, Enterprise Center and Alabang. He was chosen as Senior Manager of the Year for a record-breaking three years in 1998, 2000 and 2001. He finished AB Interdisciplinary Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. Vicente was originally a sales consultant when he was hired in 1997. He rose to become an Assistant Sales Manager, also doing the rounds of all FFI branches except Southmall in the three years that he has held the position. He is a Communication Arts graduate from the Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Last but not least, Ms. Frialde, an AB Mass Communications graduate from the Far Eastern University, started out as a Sales Consultant in 1998. She then became Customer Service Officer and Assistant Sales Manager. She was a consistent awardee in all the positions that she held and was chosen Junior Manager of the Year 2001 before she got her most recent promotion.

Diego said that, together, the new appointees are expected to further firm up Berkley International Philippines' position now as #3 in the educational plan sector and #6 overall in the pre-need industry, BOTH IN TERMS OF NEW BUSINESS. Coming from #87 in 1997, the company's rise is considered one of the fastest in pre-need history.
