Berkley International Plans, Inc., consistently ranked as one of the pre-need
industry’s Top Five in Educational Plans in terms of new business, together
with its marketing arm, Family First, Inc., recently announced the promotion
of MS. MARIA TZARINA G. SALDAÑA to the position of Vice-President. As
Vice-President, Ms. Saldaña will concurrently be in charge of four departments,
namely, People Management and Development (PMD), Marketing (Mktg), Corporate
Services (CorpServ) and Customer Response Group (CRG).
As PMD head, Ms. Saldaña will oversee the effective administration of
employee services as well as the development of employee welfare and training
programs. For Marketing, she is responsible for the attainment of monthly targets
of new business through the formulation of innovative marketing strategies including
raffle promotions, on-the-spot giveaways, referral programs and customer-oriented
activities. As head of CorpServ, meanwhile, Ms. Saldaña will manage the
upkeep and maintenance of the office and all its branches, plus purchasing functions.
And lastly, for CRG, Ms. Saldaña will enforce quality control in every
step of the transaction process with customers as well as ensure the effective
and efficient addressing of all their needs.
While Ms. Saldaña finished Architecture from the University of the Philippines,
it is in the field of Marketing where she gained considerable experience and
expertise. She has been with the Company since 1999 and has previously held
the positions of Call Center Manager, Promotions Manager and Marketing Manager.
Ms. Saldaña is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business
Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific. This marks the first time
that Berkley and Family First consolidated the aforementioned four departments,
in keeping with their desire to strengthen the mandates and policies of related
functions, all towards improving both companies’ effectiveness in serving
its various publics.
