The Vice Chairman of multinational and Fortune’s Top 500 W.R. Berkley Corporation (WRBC), MR. WILLIAM ROBERT “Rob” BERKLEY, Jr., recently visited the company’s Philippine operations which include Berkley International Life, Berkley International Plans and Family First, Inc. WRBC is a joint venture partner of American insurance giant, Northwestern Mutual, in Berkley International, LLC which, in turn, owns the three aforementioned local companies. WRBC is a big player in the property and casualty insurance business of the United States. It ranks # 18 in the industry and boasts of a net income of $116 million for the fourth quarter of 2004.
Each Berkley visit is a re-affirmation of the mother company’s commitment to the growing number of Berkley planholders in the country. With his presence, Mr. Berkley further hoped to signify his vote of trust and confidence in the Philippine economy that has been host to their businesses here since 1997. While in the country, Mr. Berkley met with the local Executive Committee to discuss plans for growth and expansion as well as improved customer service, an area which, he said, is a top priority of his companies here. He likewise met with the “next-in-line” group of senior managers in order to orient them on the vision and expectations for the setting up new branches. Family First is set to open soon in SM Pampanga its newest and first branch outside Metro Manila. Mr. Berkley likewise awarded the winner of Family First’s latest “Cool Car Giveaway 2” promo.
