IT WAS INDEED a very hectic last quarter for Berkley and Family First! Our 5th Year celebration has commenced and a multitude of activities and announcements have been lined up. One of which is the much-welcomed announcement of the new president of Berkley International Life, Berkley International Plans and Family First, Inc. — Mr. Luie C. Dy Buncio.

Prior to Mr. Dy Buncio's announcement, there have been frequent visits from Mr. Fernando C. Urquiza, President of Berkley International, LLC, as he, in lieu of a president then, tended to the Philippine operations himself. It was heartwarming indeed to know that our US-based mother company gives us ample attention - another confirmation of our credibility and capability as a company in being able to tend to our customers' needs.

In his most recent visit, Mr. Urquiza formally introduced Mr. Dy Buncio to the media during an intimate press luncheon. Included in the series of formal introductions was a courtesy call to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) officials, namely, Chairperson Atty. Lilia Bautista and Director for Non-Traditional Securities and Instruments Department Atty. Emilio Aquino.

Since his appointment, Mr. Dy Buncio has been extremely visible in the company goings-on. No stranger to the pre-need industry with a vast experience under his belt, Mr. Dy Buncio has taken his first steps in employee management as early as his first month with an employee-friendly program that was received warmly by everyone.

As President of the Berkley Group, Mr. Dy Buncio is tasked with ensuring that Berkley and Family First sustain growth gained in our 5 years by building the group’s reputation as a key customer service provider.
