What is the Protector Plan?

Do you know that you can receive up to two million in benefits from the Family First Protector Plan and up to P1,000 a day in hospitalization allowance? The Family First Protector Plan is your insurance for accidents, disability, and illness. We interviewed Edmund Veloso, Assistant Customer Service Manager for answers to our probing questions regarding the Protector Plan.

What is the Protector Plan?

The Protector Plan is a term insurance which has accidental benefits, disability benefits, plus a bonus of hospitalization income benefits. Included in the coverage are accidental death, accidental disability, natural death, and natural disability benefits. For the disability benefits, for as long as it’s total and permanent, we pay.

When you say “term” it means affordable. If you want to increase the benefits of the plan and at the

same time minimize the cost, you should add a term. Kaya ang Protector Plan cheap lang, very affordable sa customers, pero malaki ang benefits. It’s for those people who want to increase their benefits but can’t pay for the traditional life insurance. Wala siyang monthly. Ang Protector Plan since term insurance, renewable every year, equivalent siya to paying P32 daily.

What’s the difference between the Protector Plan and the Future Provider Plan?

Actually they complement each other. For the Future Provider Plan, it’s more like savings, you get a guaranteed amount of money upon maturity and may protection depending on the units you get, the higher the units, the higher the protection. As for the Protector Plan, it is purely for protection. For one year you can get up to 2 million pesos in benefits. With it you also gain hospitalization income benefits wherein you have a daily allowance of P500 per illness at a very affordable price.

Who can avail of the Protector Plan?

The Protector Plan is exclusively for planholders and their dependent spouses. They should be healthy, in good shape, and between 18 to 56 years old.

Do you need to be examined medically in order to avail of the Protector Plan?

No. As long as you are in good health, there’s no need.

Why should I get a Protector Plan and not a competitor’s ?

Because we are unlike other traditional rider plans which are normally purely accidental benefits. The Health Card for instance, is purely for hospitalization or health benefits, wala nang accidental death benefits, wala nang natural death benefits. Wala na siya noong disability benefits. We have more to offer than the competition. Tapos yung hospitalization income natin ay per illness pa.

Why is the Protector Plan important to the typical person?

I think it’s important especially to the provider or the bread winner of the family, I’m sure they want a higher coverage of insurance at minimal cost. Most people get the Protector Plan for reasons of old age, illness, disability and premature death. Natatakot sila sa kung anong mangyari sa pamilya nila kung mawala sila kaya kinakailangan ang Protector Plan. It is important also to renew your Protector every year. Kasi if you have an illness already, no insurance company will accept you. So I highly suggest that if you’re an existing Protector holder you better “renew” your policy kasi you have surpassed na the contestability. Baka kasi if you want to be covered with a big amount hindi na kayo qualified. Please remember, “illness often occurs during old age.”
